There were 3 feature poets this evening. Bernard Hankins, the talented poet, emcee, pianist, percusionist and videographer. He tantalized our ears with love poems incorporating technology terminology. Comma, so honest and powerful that you have to take a pause (comma) before the sentence continues. Lastly, there was Ralph Williams, reminding use that God has a funny way of showing you things.

The 1st Poetry Jam was hosted by Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries in honor of Beloved Community Award Winner and Poet Vaughn Yountz.  It was at Bel Rio, CALM was the host and organizer (with much help from Annie Yoder), Ebony was MC and Vaughn the feature. Talent came out of the woodworks of Charlottesville ending in an explosive performance by Adam Henry. The vibe was so strong that we HAD to continue and bring something new to C’ville.
